Crooked Finger – Random sailor
This song has a darker and brooding vibe. Sometimes there are wrongful convictions of completely innocent people, not just in our country, but others too. This song was written for Scott Watson, who has been in prison for 25 years for a crime, which we believe he did not commit. And if he admitted to it, he would have most likely, gained parole after 17 years. But you can’t show remorse for what you never did. We hope, by writing this song, there will be more public awareness of Scott’s predicament and aspects of the case will be laid bare.
It is called Random Sailor {out of the blue} because Scott was a sailor, who was picked out of the blue. The yacht did not match the description and his face was also a mismatch. Many witness descriptions were ignored of the ketch, as well as the mystery person. We feel the justice system made a blue and that he was stitched up. “Made a blue” in Aussie and New Zealand slang for making a mistake. Love this song @crookedfingernz
